Lifting Holy Hands
Reading: 1 Timothy 2:8, Psalm 63:4
1 Timothy 2:8
8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Psalm 63:4
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Psalm 63:4
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Pastor discussed "Yadah" - physically praising God with hand movements. As Pastor referenced, similar to waving down a plane!
Today's readings encourage us to lift holy hands in prayer and praise. This physical act symbolizes surrender and offering ourselves to God. As you lift your hands today, whether in private or corporate worship, consider what you're offering to God.
Are you surrendering your worries, your plans, your very self?
Are you lifting up HOLY hands unto God?
Remember, our bodies can be instruments of worship, but we must also come before Him pure and with a repentant heart.
Let the physical act of lifting your hands remind you of your spiritual posture before God - one of humility and surrender.
